Same thing happened to me. It's hardly fair to include that egg in the hatch rate. It's not the incubator's fault.

Agree 100% - I consider mine 'operator error'.

One thing I did that I won't do again---is top off the water. I had read so many posts about 'shrink wrapped chicks' -- that I was quite concerned. Seems once they started hatching the humidity increased.

In the end, I think some of my early hatchers were re-wetting from the humidity---and my last hatchling was pulled out a little damp because they weren't drying--- But all are thriving now. Next time -- no water top off after 'lock down'. :O)

Thanks for the support, everyone. After two bad hatches I kind of needed it. I'd post pics of the chicks, but using the photobucket app with the iPad and switching back and forth is a pain n the rear. Tomorrow!
