Brinsea Mini Advanced Water pots

Hi! I am wondering how often you need to fill the water pots. I am asking because last year when I hatched chicks in the classroom I could leave the incubator Friday afternoon and tend to it Monday morning without issues of water running out. Now it seems like it is using a lot more water. Hmmm.. any thoughts?

I think a lot of it depends on the humidity of your area.

Personally, I live in a very dry area, around 15-20% humidity. I also believe in doing a fairly dry incubation with my eggs. So, I fill up one pot every 4ish days. At lockdown, I fill the water well to the brim. I have fantastic luck hatching with my brinsea with this method, usually get 6/7 or 7/7.

Thanks for the reply. So it is okay for the water well to be dry for a few hours? I am just concerned about the weekends (mostly Sunday) when we are not at school.

Oh yeah, it's fine. Read up on dry incubation. People get fantastic rates with it.

I allowed my water pot in my brinsea mini advance to dry up a few times. I normally left it dry for the rest of that day and ended up with a 100% hatch. I'm sure they would be fine.
