Brinsea Mini.. Advice please!

Love mine. I have two MiniAdvance EX units and three Octagon20 Advance EX units. I got the larger incubators because most auctions are for 10, 12 or more eggs... but with two of the Minis, I can fit a dozen eggs if my larger incubators are "busy" at the time.

I started with a MiniAdvance, not the EX model, and loved it. Still love it, as a back-up incubator. It's especially nifty because it will count down the dates for you.... the EX units do not. (Which means you have to pay attention to the calendar....)

They're wonderful. Here is a photo of some of them working.

are you saling one im looking for one i whad buy it.:) i ufer u $130 for just Mini Advance Incubator not the ex

I have the Mini-Advanced and love it. I have hatched several batches of Seramas with the 12 eggs quail disc and it works great. I have a couple videos on www.ustream.tv/hawgon and in fact my live cam now is on 4 Seramas we hatched about 3 weeks ago. I dont think you will be disappointed with a Brinsea. Happy hatching

I have the mini advance and absolutely love it! I am debating getting the EX, but I don't know if the humidity control is really that necessary. I have been using it to hatch serama (only had two hatch but that was because of a TON of shipped eggs disasters) and now have my first 7 regular sized eggs in there. Have you noticed a difference in your hatch rate with the EX from the advance? Is it any more complicated?

The EX models are LESS complicated to run. You do have to make sure there are no kinks in the tubing from the humidity pump to the 'bator, but once you see it move a bubble of air in the tube further along and know it's working, all you have to do is keep the reservoir filled. You can hear it come on to keep humidity at the desired setting. It's a snap to raise humidity for lockdown.

All I did was check the digital readouts and keep track of the days... The Mini Advance counts down, but the EX models do not. Brinsea representative said the company was not interested in "keeping" the variable, controlled day count down in units with a humidity pump because of something to do with its customer base and parrot egg incubation, or something....

I guess if I didn't have to watch the calendar, I suppose I really COULD "set it and forget it.".

Imagine it: Whoopsies, I hear chicks hatching! Dang, forgot there were eggs incubating... :p
