Brinsea Octagon 40 Thread

Done agreeing...lol I think it wouldn't be a bad idea. To me they look like day 14 air cells, which isn't a horrible thing, my concern would be that if they continued growing at this rate that by lockdown they would be extra large. But maybe not. Maybe raise it until day 14 and see where they are and if they are still on target go back to whatever you are using. I don't know, tough call. They are chicken eggs right? I can't remember who's hatching what now. If they aren't then just gag me and throw me over board.......

If they are, compare them to this:
700
You just recommended raising humidity? Just wait til I tell the guys on the LG thread...

They are chicken eggs. I split the differnce and raised it to 42%. Probably won't make much differnce. I'm going to let thing go at that for 3/4 days and see what happens. It's day 12 already. Lockdown in less than a week.

Temp is holding 99.6 and humidity is holding at 43%. i have had no spikes in temps. I'll candle all the eggs tomorrow night and lock everything down. When hatching starts what is everyone's opinion on taking out the chicks? Leave them until all hatching is done or take them out as soon as they dry off. Also for a Brinsea should I close the vent all the way for lockdown?

Sc believes in leaving them in until the hatch is done, I take mine out after they hatch and start moving. LOL It's one of those things that in my opinion you have to find your comfort level and consider your humidity.
