Broad Spectrum Antibiotic when you don't know what's wrong

Now she is eating. I did feel that boggy feeling to the right of her crop and it extends along the right side of her ribs. I think its a ruptured air sac but seems less prominent today. She still loses balance and falls to the right

How's she doing?

She is still with me. I finished the antibiotic yesterday but she looks very ill. I felt her crop again today and thought she must have sour crop because the boggy feeling was there and combined with the lethargy and diarrhea it was worth trying. I tipped her and massages her crop and more than a tablespoon of mucous and watery feed drained from her mouth and i heard a couple of what sounded like gas bubbles move out. I'm holding food and gave her fresh water with electrolytes and probiotics in it for now. She can move her right wing and leg, but she still keeps falling onto that side and sometimes stretches her left leg out which makes her hind quarterflip up over her head like she's bending on half and i have to right her again next to a rolled towel to keep her upright

Sure. I just got a call from the vet who thinks the sour crop is a secondary condition but thinks it would be a good idea to give her apple cider vinegar in her water seperate from the other water. She is drinking but i dont know how long she will keep that up. The vet agreed to give me a liquid antiinflammatory refill so she will at least get the benefit of reducing any inflammation or disclmfort. She thinks even if we fix the sour crop, there is something else i might lose her still from, but as long as she is willing to try, so am i. I think the tube feeding idea is a good one though. How long should i have the catherter tip and how far down should i go. I know i have to place it to the side of her trachea so i dont drown her. I have been able to get the small quarter cc of med in, but it will be interesting to see how i do with a larger bolus.

I have some pictures that show proper placement of the tube if you want to see them, but they bird I used was deceased and plucked. If that doesn't bother you I can post them here.

Don't know if my answer went through, but am resending to be sure. I am going to see if one of my kids can give me a ride to the vets tomorrow to pick up the med refill and can hopefully pick up a tube and 10cc feeding syringe then
