Broccoli, Cauliflower, carrots??

It was devastating to say goodbye to them, but I find peace knowing that I gave them the best life I possibly could. And I went above and beyond in trying to save them.

Haha, yeah, I do watch my ducks for hours. 😁 We call it duck TV. As in, "Sweetheart, do you want to go outside and watch duck TV while we eat dinner?"

That's so funny about your dog. I loved that photo of him in the suit. 💖

The only thing I can see being not optimal about having your ducks sleep inside at night is the inside/outside temperature fluctuations. All the other stuff is personal choice. And I understand feeling over cautious. I have 3 latches on my aviary door. Lol.
Ugh... heartbreaking ... we allow ourselves to get so close... and really love them... they will Ben waiting for you... you’ll hear them
Quacking for ya something like rainbow bridge... but this will be rainbow pond!! They passed away with love and took itnwith them... 💝🦋

yea.... I was wondering about temperature fluctuations ....🙁.... ..... I will probably start this weekend.😩😫😢.... I feel so mean... even though I know it isn’t probably the best thing for them.
Ugh... darn darn darn.!!

Thank you. 💖💖💖

You can do it! And if you aren't ready yet, that's ok. You aren't mean. You are doing your best. And your ducks are very lucky to have you.

I have a little homestead so my animals are not just pets. One of my chickens’ jobs is kitchen scrap disposal. Here’s my list of ‘dont feed’.
1. Moldy food
2. Chicken
3. Avocados
4. Sugar
5. Chocolate
6. Peels or rinds
7. Super hard things

I probably missed something, but generally they compost what we don’t eat. They’ve remained healthy all these years. Chicken food is their main diet, these are supplements. Feed breads only sparingly.

Thank you. 💖💖💖

HEY.... my run has layers of wire skirts at different levels , plus all 1/2 x1/2 hardwire as the run’s main wire and it has a roof with shingles, locked handles - that you need a key for .
The skirts are out 3 feet and it goes 12-14 inches deep. With 8 tons of pea gravel on top ofthe different Layers of skirts... do I need to add wire on the floor and then add dirt?

Unfortunately I'm not an expert at predator proofing. Only this summer did I even learn that we have weasels in Washington State. I have no idea how I missed that. So my barn/aviary wasn't weasel proof and we are still working hard on making it that way now! I'm so lucky we didn't have any predator incidents.

We've got a 3 foot hardware cloth skirt now and moles/voles are still making new dirt piles inside the aviary. I believe, but I don't know, that weasels can use the mole/vole tunnels? We plan to dig up the ground, put hardware cloth down, and put the sod back.

But I'm not the optimal person to answer this question. Maybe you should make a new thread with photos? I was planning to make one after we are finished redoing ours to see if anyone could find any weaknesses.
