Broke leg on a hen

A hawk was trying to kill my mother hen, I saved her but she has a broke leg. She just hatched 10 chicks this morning. Is there a way to fix her leg?

The only way to try and answer that is if you can provide photo’s. We have no way of knowing. Take views of the whole leg from both sides and a frontal view. Closeups too of where you think it’s broken.

What part of the leg is affected? Is the bone displaced or crooked, or through the skin? Have you confined her, and what are you going to do with the chicks—place them in a brooder with heat? An xray would be the best, but if you cannot do that splinting can be helpful if it is actually broken. Sometimes it is hard to tell a bad sprain from a broken bone. If you splint, look at the link below for advice on splinting, and look at the pictures of the skeleton to tell us where the leg seems to be broken. Padding, popsicle sticks or other stiff itsms, and vet wrap strips are very good for splinting. Here is the link:
