Broke leg on a hen

What part of the leg is affected? Is the bone displaced or crooked, or through the skin? Have you confined her, and what are you going to do with the chicks—place them in a brooder with heat? An xray would be the best, but if you cannot do that splinting can be helpful if it is actually broken. Sometimes it is hard to tell a bad sprain from a broken bone. If you splint, look at the link below for advice on splinting, and look at the pictures of the skeleton to tell us where the leg seems to be broken. Padding, popsicle sticks or other stiff itsms, and vet wrap strips are very good for splinting. Here is the link:
