Wish me luck my chicken friends I broke my right ring finger last Thursday & going in for surgery tomorrow morning . I'm right handed to boot - uuuggg. Taking care of the hens & other animals have been interesting the past few days.
They are going to place a couple screws in to stabilize the bone
owwie!
My goodness.
I would help you out with those chickens, but I am diagonally about as far away as I can get without you being in Alaska.
I will keep you in my thoughts though. -and be careful with that other hand,
(when you are all healed up, I need the how it happened story.)
Thanks Well I wish I had an exciting story to tell but its really kind of stupid lol... I got tripped up at work - fell and caught the wall -
all my fingers hyperextended and my ring finger broke.
Its a spiral fracture and they placed 2 lag screws in the bone to stabilize it so the bone will heal. Being one handed it frustrating and entertaining all at the same time.
You are in a rather decent mood about it. I'd be ... Well I have a nursery and I use clippers all day long, thousands of times a day. EVERYONE would be hearing about my misery.
The whining would be audible all the way to Oregon, and I haven't heard much from that direction, so you either have really good pain killers or you are just tough.
I thought about your x-ray today as I was making cuttings, That is frame worthy. And I would find a place at work to hang it.
Im pretty sure its a mixture of pain killers and just good humor - if you cant laugh at yourself.. right? Im interested in the post op radiographs - a nice before and after shot would look great framed My co workers did comment on how I didn't cry - stayed very calm - everyone including myself thought it was dislocated and not fractured until the radiograph was taken. Surgery as yesterday so let the healing begin. This one handed thing sucks.... I'm not going to be very useful at work either
He said a full 8 wks - uuuggg. Im in a post op splint from finger tips to elbow for the first wk then I get fitted for a special brace for the next 7 wks along with physical therapy. Im such an active person - im not even to the 1 wk mark ( post surg ) & im going nuts lol. Hope to be able to return to work soon - light duty - but better than nothing. on a good note im getting better at using my left hand
