Broke my right ring finger

I was thinking last night that you need three radio-graphs; Before, during, and after. I imagine they will take the screws out when it is healed up right? The one with hardware will be impressive.

I suppose you will be ambidextrous when this is over.

I still think about that X-ray picture all the time. man. Ow. That's horrible. Hands are so important...and handy. I can't imagine how frustrating that will become.

,,, and I know you are tough, but it has got to really hurt. especially at night when there is no other sensation going on to distract you.
I feel so sorry for you.

Went in today for my post op visit. Doc said things are looking good. The screws will stay in as long as everything heals up right. I found out I have 3 screws in the fracture instead of 2. There is still swelling & bruising & I started PT yesterday ( OUCH). They gave me Percocet for pain. It still aches & keeps me up sometimes though & I hate medication. Here is the post op rad. :)

I feel better now that the screws are holding it in place. It still looks painful, but I can go through my day easier now. Don't play with any magnets.

I go to the doc on Tues - the magical 6 wk mark :) - Im still doing P.T & light duty stuff. I cant make a fist yet but things have improved - range of motion is better - no jar opening as of yet. Im at the very frustrated stage - so much I want to do but cant. It really seems like its been 6 months - uugggg. I'm pretty sure another radiograph will be taken around 8 wks to document healing - if so I will definitely share :)

Ok went to the Doc - Got to get splint off - woohoo :) Get to start getting back to normal. No radiographs as of yet - go back in a month. He might not take anymore - Doc thinks things are healing well. Now its time to work on range of motion. That's means more physical therapy

- painful but helpful.

The misery of therapy now will take the misery out of your old age. Pay the piper now while you can because being old .... it really is not a joy.
I am glad the splint is off, but gee. What a horrible experience from the start. I guess that's why we live in poverty so we can pay the insurance bill. You just never know what will happen.
Do your exercises and think about all the pickle jars in your future.

Well things are definitely the best they are going to be - looks like permanent joint damage but the fracture line is healing up nice. I cant make a fist but its functional but painful. Counting my blessings because it could always be worse :)
