Broken ankle healing process!

Hey everyone!!

I'm new to this website and new to having chickens. I've just picked up 2 baby chicks (2 weeks old each) and one of them was limping, and after a quick stop at the vet, turns out she has a broken ankle 😩😩😩 the vet has said we can strap it and hope for the best. I want to do everything I can do help her survive. What are some of the best things I can do to make sure she gets through this?
Hey everyone! It's been just over 3 weeks now and she has healed amazingly! We took the splint off completely a few days ago and she had a bit of a limo and bowed it out a bit, bit in the last few days the limp is almost gone and she is holding is straight just as the other leg! Another week or so for the muscles to get a bit stronger and she will be walking with the smallest limp I think!

Thank you everyone for your advice and help!

Thank you for the wonderful update! I'm sure the initial limp was because of atrophied muscles. Once she gets hopping around and using her legs and wings normally, she'll be fine. Congratulations on a job well done!
