Broken ankle healing process!

Hi Melissa, welcome to BYC. I'm sorry to hear about your chick, but thrilled that she found you, to care for her. I would use electrolytes in their water every other day. I'm not a fan of acv. It is corrosive, and it makes me nauseous, so I just can't believe that it is good for chickens. I am by no means an expert, but I've tried it, and my chickens just drink less water.
Good luck to you and your chicks!

Hello, Melissa, and welcome to BYC! :frow Glad you joined.
I too am not a fan of ACV. I think there is a lot of hype about all the amazing things it can do with absolutely no data analysis to back it up. I would not advise using it. I second @janiedoe's suggestion to offer her water with electrolytes in it. I would put out two waterers, one with the electrolytes and one with just plain clean water. I would also supplement her with a drop of Poultry Nutridrench once a day for 5 days then nothing for a week then do it again. Giving too much can cause diarrhea.
Have you found good videos on how to splint and tape her leg?

Sorry about your chick. I hope her leg heals. However, if it doesn't, she can still have a good life. I have a Cochin Bantam whose leg had a stricture, received surgery, seemed to be fine and then lost all the feathers off that leg and some flexibility.

Despite that, Sally is absolutely FIERCE, hops/runs as fast as any of the other chickens and regularly runs off the rooster's romantic advances.

Hope you're feeling welcome here at BYC!
