Broken Beak (We think?)

We had major yard work done today and our chickens did NOT like it. They were all clamoring in the back corner, flapping and jumping on each other and we now have an injured Barred Rock. I think she's broken her beak. There's a lot of blood in and around her beak and mouth.

What do we need to do? Will she be OK? Right now, she's in isolation in the house.

Thanks for any and all suggestions!!

The degree of damage is hard to make out from the pictures. Is she able to eat and drink? If not try providing her with moistened feed in a deep container. Hope that she is okay this morning.

She WANTS to eat, but can't. She does have more energy this morning. There was a piece of thin, hard stuff hanging off of it last night and we did trim that off. She's also not drinking, which worries me. Poor baby Licorice..

I'll try some wet chicken feed and see if that goes down..

She seems to be! She kept escaping when we had her in the isolation box, so we put her back with her flockmates. I've tried to see her close up, but we've had so much rain, they're in the chicken tractor which is super low to the ground and I can't physically get in there to check on her. Will post photos this weekend when we muck out!

My favorite little hen we noticed today has chipped some of the tip of her beak and the chipped part is still attached, like a hangnail. She seems to be eating and drinking fine, is not bleeding, and will still let us hold her but I can’t help but think it might be painful for her to try to eat and I just want to trim the loose hanging part off! How did you trim the loose part? Fingernail clippers? Will it hurt her? Any help is much appreciated! Thanks!

I used fingernail clippers. She didn't like it for sure, but I thought that was better than having it hanging!
