broken beak

I got a new hen today and she has a broken beak that has started growing back it not effecting he eating. What do i need to do?

Is it one of the Golden Comets from your other thread? If so, she probably had it cut as a chick. I see that you are also in NC. A lot of the Golden Comets in NC (including mine), are left overs that were supposed to go on to be a battery hen in a factory. They cut all their beaks when they are chicks because they will be living in close quarters with other hens, and with having their beak cut, they can't injure other hens when they peck at them. As long as she can eat and drink ok, it will be fine. Mine seem to do ok with theirs.

That's what it is. I am in NC. But she can eat and drink so that fine. What is a battery hen factory?

The othe hen was just like it but you can see where it has grown back.

It is a factory that keeps numerous hens for the purpose of laying eggs. The eggs you buy in the grocery store comes from those factories. The hens are in small cages with numerous other hens. They will usually have standing room only. Google "battery hens". The photos are so sad!
