Broken beaks

Hi everyone, last night my rooster broke his beak by trying to exscape a raccoon attack. It looks pretty bad and he's trying to eat and drink but barely getting any in his mouth.
 
Hi everyone, last night my rooster broke his beak by trying to exscape a raccoon attack. It looks pretty bad and he's trying to eat and drink but barely getting any in his mouth.

How is your rooster doing?
Can you post some photos of his beak?

You may need to syringe or tube water and feed into him while he is healing. Keeping him hydrated is most important. Offer wet feed (chicken crumbles mixed with water) and/or soft food like hard boiled egg.

Cleans any wounds around the face/beak with saline and apply some vetericyn or plain Neosporin. If he has any eye injuries Vetericyn eye gel or Terramycin eye ointment would be best. Check him over well for any other bites/wounds and treat accordingly. Watch for signs of infection like pus, oozing or odors.
