she hasn't eaten since she expelled the egg. This is the worst week ever and ending with the worst birthday ever!! I gave her some nutri drench since she didn't eat the scramble eggs with the calcium and vit D. I can only pray for now and hope she comes out of this one. Thank you so much for your help and kindness!!

I'm sorry this week is not going well. Happy Birthday to you anyway.

As long as she's hydrated for the day and night, I would not worry about her not eating until morning.
Hydration is most important when a chicken is not well.

Just wanted to chime in and mention that at one point I read doxycycline is actually the preferred antibiotic for an oviduct infection, so you may have gotten lucky there! Don’tk is if it’s true, but I have some on hand for that very reason. Good luck and keep us posted.

I want to thank all you kind and caring chicken people that helped me with my little "Bell". She crossed over that chicken rainbow bridge and she will always be missed and loved. She brought so much love to my heart for the short time I had her. I was there when she broke out of her shell and I was there when she took her last breath.

I'm so sorry that you had such an horrendous week, especially when it was your birthday and so very sad that we were unable to help you save Bell. She was a bonny little bird and the sparkle in her eye speaks of lots of spirit too. I'm so sorry that you lost her.
Thank you for the photo of her in better times. That is the way she needs to be remembered.
