So sorry about your eggs! This one is a silkie egg too and I’m pretty keen to see these guys hatch. I already lost one to the dogs a few days ago, so I was pretty gutted when this happened aswell.

How long will it take to heat up? Some let eggs cool on purpose when incubating to simulate being under momma. Thats only for about 15 minutes though. Could you put it in the bator with a heating pad until it was warm?
Or, I saw a thread about someone incubating in their bra a while back..... Maybe you can do that temporarily?

My incubator has beeen heating for about 30mins now and is only at 25 degrees Celsius, I usually keep my incubator going for at least 24hours before I put my eggs in, so I’m not sure how long it will take to heat.. I’ll leave it for another 20 minutes and see how it is. Thanks!

Its getting close. Broody will probably be okay for 20 minutes, but thats also a bacteria petri-dish for an at risk egg....
I bet it will be fine out of the bator for that long. Some broody's leave the nest for up to an hour.

Thanks! I put some nail polish on it and it’s been in the bator for about an hour and a half. Hopefully it’ll be okay!
