So my mother hen went broody again and the only eggs I could get were bantams. She's a big, heavy bird (light sussex) and has broken 5 out of 12 eggs.
There is a bit of a smell and some of the eggs are coated in broken egg.

Should I wash off the eggs in warm water or would I be better leaving well alone?

I believe - but don't hold me to this - that washing the eggs will break the natural protective seal on them and allow the ingress of bacteria. Personally, I'd wipe them off gently and pop them back under her. I'm no expert though, just my 0.02.
