Hi everyone!
I am stumped, I have asked professionals however we can’t find out the issue with my Isa Brown and now my other bird Australorp is presenting with the same issues (on a smaller scale).
This has been going on for 5months now, red skin, broken feathers, off lay. Treated for parasites. Please help, anyone experienced this? Not moulting as no new feather growth. Her comb is nice and red and normal and happy in herself

Welcome To BYC
Your location would be good - are you in the US or ?
What have you used to treat for parasites?

I would start with treating for Depluming(Feather) mites. These are mites that live under the feather shaft, so permethrin type treatments will not be effective. Use Ivermectin Pour On at a dose of 0.09ml per pound of weight. Apply to the skin at the base of the neck. It needs to be in contact with the skin. Repeat in 10 days.

How much space (coop/run sq/ft) do they have? What do you feed?
Broken feathers will not be replaced until the birds molt. Observe them to see if they are picking at one another as well.

Thanks for your reply. I am in Australia. I have used a permethrin based mite/lice spray. They have plenty of space and on a good feed (Barastoc Golden Yolk). I also give them supplements and treats. No pecking, both the birds are at the top of the pecking order too

Then I would try Ivermectin and see if that makes a difference.
