My sister rescued a two day old chick. They were going to discard her because she is injured. I examined her leg and there is clearly an injury with discoloration and swelling at the joint of her biggest toe. I went ahead and splinted it straight. My question is should it be bent in her natural standing position instead and she is a vigorous eater but I'm not sure how much water she should be consuming

I would definitely take the poor little baby to an exotic vet. They would be glad to inspect her leg and toe and help you rehabilitate her. Please tell me how it turns out! The little sweetie sounds precious and Im sure she will appreciate you helping her more than you could ever imagine!
God bless!!!!!!!

I wish I could afford to take her since I'm sure it would be better in the long run and unfortunately I'm going to have to I wish I could afford to take her since I'm sure it would be better in the long run and unfortunately I'm going to have to go it alone. The little splint seems to be helping she seems more comfortable and she's able to get up and make her way to the food and water on her own. I don't have to hold her up anymore while she's eating and drinking. She sure is a friendly little thing though due to all of the handling I'm sure. Even my bielefelder chicks weren't so calm.

Aww! That's precious! I'm sure she will heal up if she's already showing that much improvement! All we can do is ask Jesus to heal her and go from there. Please let me know how everything turns out!
Thank you for the love and care that you have given to her!
God Bless!!!!!!!
