I got the hen!!!!!

I gave the neighbor back his Cornish X, who is doing good, no fighting noises from his coop so far.

In return, I told him that I can set her leg and keep her from moving alot. He gave me the hen to take care of. She has been sitting in a corner of her coop, not moving to food or water. She drank like crazy when I got her. I splinted her leg, I used some like car sponge, and set her leg in it supported by a popsicke stick on each side. Then taped it all in place, and put a very light bandage on top of that. Also taped a ball of sponge to the bottom of her foot. I set it slightly bent like normal. Hope I did it right.

What kind of hen is this?

Afterwards, I checked her for bugs and found a few mites, and a village of lice around her vent. I dusted her with sevin, put shavings in her crate with sevin, and gave her some Wazine water.

Thanks, Cynthia. I'm glad I have her. She's not afraid of anything! And her name is Barbara now!!!!

Edit: I've renamed her Fern. Fits her better

Thanks, Door. She's a very quiet and smart hen. The neighbor was feeding them scratch and leftovers. I've told him for a year to feed layer but the feed store tells him that layer is bad for roos. So I told him again to get layer. Thankfully they get loads of leftovers.
I've given her a dish of layer, but she's never had it so she's not really eating it. What do I do?

She looks bright and alert, but this could be from pain and fear of being in a new place. All the splint advice sounds spot-on. I'd mix the layer feed with something more enticing to get her used to it - eggs, cooked oatmeal, etc. and gradually mix so there's more and more later and less people food and eventually she'll learn to eat it. Definately need something on the floor of the cage, but it sounds like you put shavings down based on your prev. post. Good job! She's a nice looking hen.
