I went out about an hour ago to put my chickens, duck, and geese in for the night, and noticed my Toulouse gander was only standing on one leg. The other is hanging behind him. He hops around on his good leg with the help of his wings for support. I haven't seen him move the bad leg at all, but I didn't have much time to observe him, as it was getting dark outside. I have him in their coop for the night, along with my other goose.

I don't know for sure that it's broken, as I have no idea what even happened to him. I can't get a picture right now since it's dark out now, but he holds his bad leg EXACTLY like this photo I found online:

I'll post a picture of my gander tomorrow once I'm home from work.

I don't want him to be in pain. That said, this gander is a real ass, but he does have his sweet moments. I have no issues keeping him in the coop until his leg is better. I just want to know what to do to the leg exactly. A vet isn't an option, as the nearest is a long ways away, and I'm a bit short on money at the moment with all of my other bills.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance! :)

Grab up some baby ibprophen, in case it is somthing with inflammation and pain.. But if you let them out of the coop in the morning, limit where he can roam.. I would just not let them out of the coop until I have the opportunity to get a look at what ever new incident requires my attention.
Bad to chase a weak leg bird just to look at its injuries, when you don't have to.

Thank you all for your replies! You've been very helpful :)
I kept him locked in the coop today, and probably will keep him there until he's healed up. I checked the leg for any breaks and I didn't feel any. Though I'm not experienced with it, but I did use the guide that Eggcessive had linked to check the leg. Maybe not a break? I really don't know.

Here's the photos as I promised!
