Broken leg

Unfortunately a duck escaped out of its pen and my daughter (who's 3) caught it and put it. I think its got a broken leg and the vet says it will cost £2000, which obviously sounds ridiculous. Is there anything I can do to help it so I dont have to put it down. Really appreciate any advice I can get and thank you in advance
