I need help.. 😢 this roo is my baby, my world but the last 2 nights he has been attacking me horribly. I don’t know what’s changed for him to do this. I got trapped In his run with him and had to keep my foot up for him to bounce off instead of my body. He landed against one of our roosting bars and I think his toe is broken.. like completely in half.. there isn’t a vet close to me and I have no idea what to do. I cleaned and wrapped it for now but any advice would be helpful.. also any advice as to why he’s attacking me in the evenings but is fine during the days🄺

Looks like the bone is exposed, so you'll have to watch that closely for infection.

Below is a splinting manual that you may find helpful.

How old is this "roo"? Attacking is not a welcomed behavior, if you are having to fight him off, then consider rehoming him or growing him on out for processing.

It can be hard to know why he's attacking, sometimes it can be food driven, sometimes they have found out you are afraid, sometimes it can be?? who knows what's in their head.

I definitely think it is. I’m gonna splint in the morning and continue to monitor!

We got him in April, so I’m assuming like puberty? It’s not dark out when he does it, it’s sunset ish? It started yesterday, after a bobcat tried to get into the coop/run. I’m not sure if he’s assuming I’m a threat now or not.

He’s been a sweet boy and honestly just hangs with me all the time wanting snuggles. He prefers to be with me than with his girls, so it was shocking behavior.
