Brooder cleaning

I am about to move my 3, 4 week old BO chicks "outside" to the grow-up coop and will be selling the 12, 2 week old BO chicks we have this weekend. I have chicks due from the 'bator on 5/21 and again on 5/30. Is it ok to clean out the brooder then spray it down with Lysol (or some type of disinfectant)....I feel like I need to give it a REALLY good cleaning, just not sure what to use. My brooder is wood and wire up on legs, so soap/water is not a good option for me. THANKS.

I have heard that plain ole bleach is best!! Can put with water in spray bottle.

I usually put 1/4 of the bottle w/ bleach then fill with water

OH, and if you can sit it out in the sun to dry...

The sun does wonders to air everything out!!

I also use a wire & wood brooder. I disinfect it between every hatch. I use either Zep disinfectant, or bleach & water to disinfect it. I let it sit 5-10 min. then I rinse.

1/4 bottle bleach to 3/4 bottle water is a VERY strong ratio. You could use a 1:10 ratio and get the same effect, with fewer negative effects (like stripping your skin).
