Brooder? ~HELP PLEASE~

You should do a search on here for brooders.

ETA: Under raising baby chicks there is a sticky for home made brooders.

I don't have a picture to post, but check your local craigslist for large wooden shipping crates. I've picked up two in the last week, and they make amazing brooders as long as you have a garage or shed to put them in. They are so large, they don't fit through the door. I have 38 2 week old cornish and 1 two week old unknown in one now, and they have plenty of room. I just searched for crate, but you could also look for shipping container and phrases like that. Both of them were free, we just picked them up with our trailer...

I was lucky enough to find a company that gives away free shipping crates that are about 2.5' x 3.5' and 20-24" tall or more. My friend has covered these w/ hardware cloth and put a small door w/ hinges and a latch...POOF!! instant brooder! I have 3 of these converted to brooder status but also have 7 more that can be used for doghouses, storage, etc. And the company is on my way to work!
