Hey y’all, Im planning on getting 2 new baby chicks in the near future. I need brooder ideas, so if you have a brooder please post a picture to help me out!

Oh trust me, we built our chicken coop by hand, it can’t be that hard lol

I typically do large scale and tried something new this year. I had my DH build an Ohio/Hover Brooder and it worked surprisingly well, even when we got a freak negative degree snowy week. The brooder was set-up inside our meat/brooder coop (we moved in a new coop this summer, but prior to that it was just the coop). I also built a smaller one, 2x2, to use for a few chicks. For the heat, I decided to try the brooder/heater plates vs a heat lamp.
Currently we have about 20 4-week-old birds and 4 2-week-old ducks; since it’s warmer out they’re inside a temporary brooder pen made from dog pen panels and each group has a heat plate. (The Ohio/hover brooder is on end in the back).

We borrowed one from a friend. It was very similar to the brooder in the video below. The one we used was screwed together in the corners but basically the same concept. It can be disassemble and stored flat. We placed it on the concrete floor and bleached and scrubbed the floor when we were don with it.
