Brooder liner

I am raising quail and want to change from rubberized shelf liner to maybe indented 60# craft paper. Has anyone tried Kraft paper? I don't want straddle legs or the expense of a roll if it isn't going to work. Your input is appreciated.

How about puppy pads? They aren’t slippery and they are easily disposable.

I haven't tried Kraft paper, but I have used puppy pads. Paper towels work too, but the grippy shelf liner is the best. You only need to use it for the first day or two, then you can switch over to shavings, puppy pads, or whatever. Just make sure that it isn't slick or too smooth.
