I have 12 one week old chicks in a 110 gallon stock tank. Space is fine for now...but what do y'all do when they get 3, or 4 weeks old? This space will be too small for all 12.
Is it ok to separate 6 in one area, and 6 in another area?

I'm in Texas where we are already feeling heat index of 100+°

You have the coop and run ready, right?
My chicks go out side to the coop at 2 weeks, always. I just cant stand them in the house after 2 weeks. To much dust, noise and smell.
Most times with the heat lamp with a appropriate watt bulb for weather temp.

Hi and welcome to BYC. With those temps (assuming they’re lows) they should be fine in the coop, imo. Here are some helpful links:

Use the coop now. I know, you will feel some separation anxiety,
But It's even worse, when they go off to college! :lau :gig
