BROODER QUESTION..........

we just bought the stuff to make our brooder for our chicks which are coming March 16th and were wondering if a 1X2 would work for a roost in the brooder? Also, how high would it need to be up off the ground?

a brooder does not need a roost but its nice to have one, make them in 6-8 inch increments off the ground I would think.

oh and 1x2 might be a bit wide at first make the lower ones dowels or 1"x1" then the tallest one can be the 1x2
