Brooder Size for Ducklings

I'm getting 10 ducklings next week. Unfortunately 9 out of 10 from our last batch were killed in a night time raid at 3 weeks old (cat? raccoon?). Our 10th is ill, and I don't want to put our new ducklings in the pen she was in for fear of contamination. It also turned out to be a bit too big for ducklings (~4ftX4ft).

I have seen people use plastic bins and cardboard boxes for a few ducklings. My question is, what is the ideal size for 10 ducklings? Something that is big enough that they can use until they're ready to go into the duck run (3-4 weeks).

They'll be outside, with a lamp primarily for night time (we're still in the mid 80's to 90's during the day here).

I prefer to use hay straw as a bedding.

I can tell you that a Rubbermaid tote that is roughly 14 x 20 for 4 of them will be too small, if that helps. You answered a question that I had though, which was what might be an appropriate time to get them out of the brooder and into their coop outside, so thanks

We used a kiddie pool with fencing around the sides until about 4 weeks of age, but that was for 5 ducklings... And they were outgrowing it when we moved them into the coop. Might not be big enough for your 10, or it might work fine depending on when they actually end up going out.
