brooder size

Yes why not pine? It is cedar you have to worry about. The cedar gives off gases that can affect their little lungs. Pine is what I always use. It is called soft wood shavings. But really it is pine. Jean
 
Here is the brooder I use. I devide it in half at first. It will be good for about 4-6 weeks, then they will get moved to the teenage coop in the barn. This brooder is about 3' x 7' made from a shipping crate I brought home from work.
