Brooder Space

For the first coupla weeks, they should be ok with 6 sq. inches each. After that, they will need 1-2 sq. feet each.

Generally speaking.

From hatch to about two weeks one-half square foot per bird.

From two weeks to a month about one square foot.

One month to two months about two square feet.

I began fine with 12 sq ft of brooder space for 30 chicks (ordered 25, they sent 5 more). Now at 5 weeks they are in serious need of an upgrade which should happen today
