BROODER thread! Post pics of your brooders!

Just a large cardboard box that eggs come in. I got it from my local grocery store (Stop & Shop). Hay. Teddy Bear. Hackey-Sack. Waterer/Feeder. And a small hut for them, made also out of cardboard.

I built my big brooder for my 5 BO's. The unit is 48 x 42 x 28. I put plywood inside to keep it warm and draft free. The top is hinged and has hardware wire on top. The temp is about 85 with 2 lights on. My pullets are 15 days old. The brooder is a fold down plastic auto container. I can take it outside an wash it down when I am done. I feel I need more chicks to fill this up now.

So I finally got the hang of posting pictures. So here is the brooder my husband made from a large wood crate he found at work. My boys helped. The last picture is of our new BBW poults inside of the brooder.

Anyone in the Amarillo area want a large cardboard box for a brooder? I got a chair shipped and this is the box it came in:

It is 2' wide x2'deep x 1.5' high. If anyone wants it let me know.
