well here's my not finished brooder (it's the one on the left) -

and here's the side view -

it wasn't finished but we had to send one chicken to the hospital for special care and we had nothing to put her but in there. Don't worry it wasn't a disease! she was just very stressed and couldn't walk, but now she's doing better and we got her back to the other side with her flock. Well we're going to move the brooder close to my window outside and we'll cover all of the sides of the brooder with plywood so that rain/snow can't get in, but we'll leave some small openings for ventilation. I will post pics later when we're done with it.

Looking into the new brooder box, a 50 gal. container from Walmart. Housing 5 chicks, next week will be 11 more. Wondering how long I'll be able to keep them all in there??!!

Not sure if I am doing this right,but i agree lots of good ideas on here!Just finished our 2'X4' brooder today,just in time too our chicks come tomorw,26 cornish x + 26 brown leghorns from miller hatchery!I think it turned out good,didn't plan on building anything until we saw some of the great ideas on this thread yesterday,I will try to post pics on here tomorrow if we can figure it out (i'm new!) Thanks everyone the wife and I are hooked, and it all looks fun!

Yeah. They are left over from the Bearden Dragons that were in there years ago. This setup is by far my most favorite.
