what is a good size brooder for 12 chicks

A large cardboard box is fine usually.

I used a baby pool with a screen over it for the first two weeks, then moved them to an outside brooder that was 2'x8'. At 4 weeks I started moving them to the big girl area as they got big enough to not squeeze through the fence. I'm getting new chicks next week and plan on doing the same thing again.
