Broodies & Their Babies Photo Contest
Closes June 5th at 11:59 PM Pacific Time.

Many of our members here have had a hen go broody, and springtime usually means broody hens and new chicks. Who doesn’t love seeing a mother hen with her chicks? We would love to see yours! Show us your best pictures of your Broody Hen and her babies for a chance to win 1 of 3 prizes.

If you'd like some tips on how to take better photos - even photos of fluffy butts can be better - then take a look at these awesome threads:
It's easy to enter, just reply to this thread with pictures of your broody hen and her babies.

To increase your chances of winning, please read the rules before entering.

.

Yes, 4 hens went broody and sat in the same nest. I had to take some of the eggs away because one got broken, but I left them a few and hatched the rest in the incubator. Now all 4 are raising the chicks together. The Orpington is the boss mom though. 😂
What is going on there, lol? Did they all go broody in the same nest?

Adorable!! My game hens love to go broody and were it not for their instinct to be territorial I think one could categorize them as the best moms there are, but...
Some have no problem with other hens with chicks being close by but some don't like it; so everyonce in a while our chicks get caught in the crossfire (the only thing that exasperates me of them).
I've had hens scare off hawks by flying after them, just love that some do that 🥰.
