Brooding age?

So a cute update. The silkies have rotated thru their broodiness. Now "Tina" the frizzle is heavy broody mode and the other two are clearly outta the broody mode..

They all would take kindly to getting some fresh aire and eventually return the the nest..... Night night y'all.

Hi all, :frow

Last month, I had two of my silkies go broody and they were only 8 months old! One of them went broody and sat for about five week on fake eggs (my cockerel wasn't fertilizing the eggs because it was January) and after the second week another silkie went broody. They sat there on these eggs until the end of February when they finely gave up. :gig

I am hoping they will go broody again this year and hatch some eggs so that I can have some chicks raised by mum.:jumpy

Well, "Tina" seems to of come out of her Broodiness over the last few days. One or two of our red Sexlinks has/have been lounging in the nest for many hours a day. One today seems to of decided to goto sleep in one of the nests so I left the eggs under her for the nighgt... I can get them tomorrow.

Well turns out the one really was broody! We have 4 new chicks this week!
