Brooding day olds outside? Please help asap.

It depends on how long they have been broody and their personalities or dispositions whether they would adopt them. I've never dealt with a broody but I've read it can be good or bad...that's a lot of chicks for those moms though. You're right about them being hatched outside...didn't think of that. I suppose just provide fresh cool water as often as possible
Two broody hens with their own chicks in one space would likely be a blood bath - let alone so many chicks

Let's see if the experts can be of further help (assuming she's still awake) - @Pyxis

I'm up :p

I wouldn't try moving the hens to the chicks since that won't work - they'd probably not accept them. If they're co-brooding, as in, sharing a nest and eggs, then they might happily raise some chicks together. I have two buff orp hens that share every year. But 50 chicks for two bantam cochins is too many.

I'd brood the chicks in the new coop with a heat source for at night, and if you'd like the hens to have chicks slip a couple under each of them and just let them raise a few.
