Brooding- Not brooding

So I had a hen that was brooding for several weeks. I had been trying to get chicks for her but for some reason everyone and their mother was buying every single chick within hours of arriving at the store! Today, I finally got my hands on 4 chicks, unfortunately my hen is no longer brooding! Any suggestions to get her to do it again, or will I now play mamma hen? Thanks!!

Everybody and their dog is buying chicks like toilet paper in a pandemic because of the high cost of eggs in the grocery store. They think it will be cheaper to have hens in the backyard and grow their own eggs. They're wrong, but ...

As for your hen, sorry, there is nothing you can do to make her go broody again. You're the mama this time! Broodiness is a hormone-driven behavior, and when they're done, they're done. Until next time. Enjoy your babies!
