Yesterday was the day my hen gave up her baby in order to sit on more eggs. After cheeping and running over to the brooding chicks, i decided since they were born on the same day the chicks could leave the brooder too. I have black breasted OEG rooster and hes been roosting on top of the brooder lately. When i took the chick out, it ran over to the hen's chick. The hen's chick started pecking the brooder chick so the brooder chick ran away. I looked to where it ran and saw this:

The chick stays under his breast now at all times and he protects it and doesnt seem to mind. Ive always wondered if this was possible but i never expected it to happen with a rooster!
