Smothering, or a fatal stepping on, can happen...but it's not too common.
I assume you have the chick sized feeder and waterer out and close to where she is?
If she doesn't have them out by mid day I'd go ahead and grab a chick and bring it to the waterer.
You can reach under, palm up, and lift her body so you can see under there a bit.

I have appointments this morning, after it gets light of course... I will check on them after and make sure they are getting water and food. Hopefully I do not need to intervene.

I smoked for 7 years, from age 14 to 21 so its been 30 ish years for me. My biggest issue at the time was knowing that some fat cats at some corporate headquarters were profiting off my addiction and could care less they were killing me slowly. F them.

I have asthma and have always reacted strongly to cigarette smoke. Never even thought to try it.

As for smoking, I quit in 1974....cold turkey from 5 packs a day. I started smoking at 9 and quit at 25.

It is what it is, we all have our habits. I smoke pot and it cures what ails me, at least no corporate overlords getting rich off of me I grow my own!
