She's not even a year old and she's trying to go broody. I thought I broke her but went out and found her sleeping in the nest box.
She's not full on broody yet but this time I have to use the cage since she's not snapping out of it. She had just got back to laying from her last episode. I collect eggs daily and sometimes twice daily because of her. I had to work some weird hours and DH was supposed to take care of that but didn't. It was just two days though. It doesn't take much for her.
I may trade her to someone who wants that trait. Is it just going to get worse or will she let go of this with some age?

Not of the question. One of my July 2013 hatched pullets has just weaned 11 chicks that are about 5 weeks old currently and she already has four eggs of second clutch in nest. She will have those hatched before she is a year old.

I have a SS who is not three years old yet, and she's been broody eleven times, sat eggs twice. Serial broody. She will be broody again in a month. This last time it took two weeks in the broody cage to break her. It seems to be getting worse, not better.

I have a game bird mix. She just hatched her 2 clutch of the season.

Where you at? I could love a hen like that. Mine are being locked up all day tomorrow, they keep wandering off Nd laying in the woods, a habit I need to break.
