Broody AGAIN

I put cardboard on the bottom so it's easier to walk on, fresh food and water daily.
Bottom needs to be wire and raised off the ground for better air flow so she can't 'warm' her belly again anything solid. You can toss a chunk of 2x4 in the bottom of crate to give her feet a break from the wire.
Some folks even put a fan to blow under the crate.

We have no Rooster and she parks herself in the middle of three nest boxes and causes havoc and confusion with the other 4 that are actually laying eggs. She doesn't eat or drink and seemingly doesn't poop either and all those are bad for her health especially in the high temperatures here in south Texas.

One of our Orpington hens will lay 10 eggs, go broody for 6 weeks, spend a month recovering, then repeat the cycle all summer long. She looks after herself so I just let her do her thing rather than try and change what her genes are telling her to do.
