Broody breaking in cold weather

Just by personal experience, I think it takes 3 days minimum to break a broody, especially cochins, and they can't be comfortable either. I don't think putting a roost in the crate is a good idea. Just MHO.

I believe Casey is cured! It's been almost 24 hours since I released her from the cage and she seems to be back to normal. She has been out and about with the flock as much as the snowy weather permits.

I think removing the perch is what made the difference for Casey. Also the weather got a bit colder which probably helped cool off her tummy.

It's such a relief to have that over with. Thanks very much for all the good advice!
