Broody, Broody

I have Blue Wyandottes that went broody constantly last year. I started the cage deal & some took as long as 5 days. Well I have a new winner. One of my 8 month old Columbian Wyandottes went broody & she is on her 13th night in the cage with no sign of quitting. My others would pace in the cage when I would enter the coop even if they continued trying to set later. I have to remove this squirrel from the cage when I want to let her out, she will not go out on her own. She may soon be Sunday dinner!

Ugh, she still won't break and I've had her in for more than 2 weeks! She has decided to go broody in the cage.:barnie
and it's raised pretty high
Its up high but that deep tray under her may be restricting airflow.
Got a flatter one, or just put apiece of cardboard or newspaper there instead?

Is it hot where you are?
Dipping her undercarriage in some cool water before putting her in the cage might help.
Some folks resort to fans blowing under the cage.

Good ideas, I will try them!
