Broody Buff Orpington

I have a broody buff that is just 7 mo. old. I dont want any chicks now, how do I break her up. she is very persistant

All I can say is good luck. I have one too. I even tried giving her some eggs to hatch, none were good. The silkie roo is a little small to his his mark. I have tried taking her off the nest and taking her far from the coop into the yard. 10 minuites tops she is back in the coop, I tried sticking her feet into cold water, and even running cool water over her belly nothing has worked.

People say to break a broody hen, put her in a cage, by herself, with food and water, but NO NEST, for a couple of days.

They claim the gals don't like the air on their bottoms and a couple of trips to the cage and their broken of trying to brood. Don't know if it's true. I have a Buff Orp that is almost 7 months old and is getting very broody and that's what they told me to do. BTW sometimes, after I knock her off of the nest, she will find one of my banties and try to mother the banty by putting her wing over them and pulling them close. It is hilarious to watch since the banties are older than her.
