Hi everyone
I’m new to call ducks. I have two white girls that are sitting on two nests in the same house. I just went in to lock them in for the night and saw a new little duckling under one of the moms. So excited. But after reading a bit on ducks I read that a Mom will attack another mom’s babies. Now I’m worried what will happen when the other mom’s eggs start to hatch? Do your calls work well together or do you separate the moms?

I don't have calls. I do have Mallards. They don't attack each others' babies unless the babies attempt to go to the wrong mother. And even then, it's more of a chase away. I leave them alone.

They will kill orphaned ducklings, though.

Thank you for the reply. That makes me feel better. I’m used to chickens. These are my first ducks. I wasn’t really expecting any eggs to hatch since the moms seemed to stay off the eggs for such long periods of time. I was so surprised when I saw the little one. Lol. I do have two boys with them and I read that they can hurt the little ones so I’m thinking I’ll separate them starting tomorrow so the moms can relax. The boys can be rough on the girls.
