Broody Cat?

So, my two tabbies really get along with the hens and rooster. I had no idea to what level their comradery reached. Today, while looking for a missing hen during free range time, I discovered Sitka in a nest box keeping an egg warm. Guess I can check that off my bucket list. Oh, the wayward hen was located pecking in the cat food bowl.

Kitties love nest boxes - warm, dark and secure - many have chosen nest boxes to have their kittens in, and in a lot of cases the hens will sit on and brood the kittens.
