Broody Chicken Breeds

Can a hen that was incubated still go broody and can broody hens encourage other hens to go Broody

Yes to the first question! Genetics have a lot to do with it.

As to whether broody hens can encourage other hens, I think not in my experience. I've found that if a hen is going to go broody, she will regardless of whether others are doing it. And, temperature/conditions seem to cause a number of them to go broody at the same time anyway.

Not sure if I just got "lucky" by my barred rock has been broody for 2 weeks!! I am taking all but one marked egg from her each day. I want to see if she can hatch it.
