Broody Chicken

So we let one of our hens a Buff Orpington go broody. None of her eggs hatched and it is a couple days past when they should have. We are picking up 2 baby ducks at the store. I am wondering if we put them by her will she raise them?

She might or she might not. For best results, put them under her at night and remove the eggs at the same time. When she wakes in the morning she might be fooled into thinking her eggs hatched. Hens will raise ducklings but beware the first time they want to go for a swim in their water bowl. Mama Hen will have a fit, thinking her babies are going to drown.
